Cook/chef German Internship

Position Overview:

SHB Agency is offering an exciting internship opportunity for skilled kitchen chefs/cooks to work in Germany. This program is designed to provide hands-on experience in a professional kitchen, enhance your culinary skills, and immerse yourself in German culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision and creativity
  2. Assist in menu planning and development
  3. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  4. Adhere to health and safety regulations in food preparation
  5. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations
  6. Present dishes in an appealing manner to meet high standards of quality and presentation

Requirements:

  1. Education: Completed degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Gastronomy, Restaurant and Cooking Techniques, Hospitality, etc. (University must be listed as H+ on Anabin)
  2. Experience: At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a kitchen cook/chef, with valid references from previous employers and pictures of dishes cooked
  3. Language Skills: Minimum B1 level English (confirmed by interview). For specific positions, A2 level German is required
  4. Age: 21-40 years old
  5. Personal Qualities: Strong work ethic, appropriate attitude, leadership skills, and a commitment to high standards of work and ethics
  6. Financial Readiness: Ability to cover personal expenses for travel, etc.

Terms & Conditions:

  1. Employment Type: Internship position.
  2. Salary: €13-16 per hour
  3. Guaranteed working hours: 40 hours per week plus occasional paid overtime
  4. Accommodation: Comfortable shared housing near the workplace for approx. €350/month (including facilities)
  5. Employee Care: Provided by a coordinator who speaks English and German.
  6. Legalization of Stay and Work: Assistance in obtaining a Work and residence permit
  7. Duration: 1 year / Renewable: Yes
  8. Process:
    1. Costs Work permit: €1200
    2. Processing time: 2 -3 Months
